Welcome to Carrowtrasna.com

The beautiful townland of Carrowtrasna lies in the parish of Moville Lower, on the breathtaking Inishowen peninsula in County Donegal, Ireland. From here there are spectacular views past Stroove lighthouse and Lough Foyle to Northern Ireland and, on a clear day, across the Atlantic Ocean to the islands of Islay and Jura in Scotland (on the left horizon).

In Irish, it is called Ceathrú Trasna, which can be translated as "the townland in the distance or across from another" or "the slanting quarter (of land)". Carrowtrasna is 608 acres in size. It is bordered at the south-west by the townland of Carrowhugh; at the north-west by Glennagiveny; and to the north-east by Stroove. To the east Lough Foyle meets the Atlantic Ocean.

Carrowtrasna is about 37 kilometres north east of Derry City, and about 6 km from Moville. It is easily accessible from Northern Ireland using the Lough Foyle ferry. Information about accommodation and local attractions can be found on the Tourist Information sites to the right.
